A series of illustrations realized with very mixed media.

It all started with some weird drawings on a sketchbook. Then I went to my kitchen and chose a variety of materials. Shapes were created on the glass of a scanner. The scanned images then went trough a series of digital elaborations and gained life after a few digital brush strokes.

Just like that, Pollame was born.

Pollame

Poultry: domestic fowl, such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese.

Materials include: green and black tea leaves, cloth pieces, paper collages, rice, pasta, oats, newspapers, cous cous, cat pictures, dried fruits.

The combination of real objects and materials directly taken from reality and faithfully transformed in 2D elements and a very fake and stylized style, create an overall surprise effect, a sense of surrealism.

The process

Just oats.
Oats taking some shape… ?
Hey, that’s a bird!
